STF Releases Sanepar Auction, Unlocks Investments of R$2.9 Billion in Sanitation in Paraná

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) authorized the resumption of the Sanepar auction for sewage services in 112 municipalities in Paraná.

The process had been suspended in May due to an injunction obtained by Aegea, which challenged a clause in the notice that prohibited a company from winning more than one lot in the auction.

The suspension was revoked after Minister Flávio Dino reconsidered the decision, allowing the auction to proceed as planned. The auction, divided into three lots, foresees a total investment of R$2.9 billion in sanitation infrastructure.

The goal is to ensure that at least 90% of the population of the cities involved have access to sewage collection and treatment by 2033, in accordance with the new Legal Framework for Sanitation
